Kaptain's Log - January: "There are... uh... more dan two lights!"
Kurks slowly awoke to realize he was someplace bad. Very bad. His arms and legs were shackled to the metal table he was laying on, preventing escape. Various implements of torture lay on tables about him, the ichor from recent use still dripping off some. A spotlight above him prevented his sight from penetrating the darkness beyond it's reach, and only illuminated the horrors directly near him. Thoughts of escape were held by the sound of footsteps on metal steadily approaching him.
A Dark Eldar slid into the light with a malevolent grin while wiping clean a jagged blade. He gave the Kaptain a look over almost casually before giving equal scrutiny to the tools about him. "I am so sorry for this to have happened to you Kaptain. Most certainly a mistake in the paperwork somewhere I'd say. We'll have you out of here in no time, but I would like to take this opportunity to ask you a few questions. Let's start with something simple..."
The Eldar flicked a switch and a set of floodlights just outside the radius of the spotlight flared into existence. The glare filled his entire vision and his sight struggled to understand the brilliance set in front of him. The intensity of the lights was so much that he could feel the heat off them like a set of miniature suns. It fell to him like a whisper, but he was certain the Eldar was talking normally "...All you have to do is tell me how many lights there are."
Kurk tried to look down at his hands to help him count, but the blaring light and restraints prevented him from seeing them. Vainly, he tried to keep count in his head, only to constantly have the number slip from his fungus filled brain. He panicked and shouted the only answer he could: "Der are... more dan two lights!!!"
With time for the contest nearing it's end, I present to you all our last official skill challenge theme! We've had you try painting rust, NMM, weathering, and more. But this months category tends to provide depth and realism you take notice of. If you couldn't tell from the fluff bit above, this month we'll be doing lighting effects! Get your glow on with flames, lava, lights, magic, or those little pyro fairies you keep seeing. Try your best to show how a light source will reflect it's aura onto the model/base around it! Another challenging theme, but one you'll be thankful for once you master it.
