Oath Complete!

All done. The Infinity guys could be a little better, the Terminator is rushed, and I'm not happy with the colors on the Dakkajet, but it is done.

Oath In Progress

So I forgot to take a few pictures. But anyway, it is assembled and primed.
This guy is assembled, primed, and started on with the Red Paint Job. I put one of those engines from the LearJet to good use already.
Last but not least, a start of some red on this guy too.

Assembly

Somehow I do not own any rubber bands. Hair ties will have to do while the two halves dry.
Meanwhile, I added some guns sticking out of the windows. They are getting primered over, so I don't care about the shitty, half-stripped paint.
The bands come off and it is time to shave things down and add other outside bits.
Chaos Terminator Champion lends a hand in keeping a flopping wing upright until the glue dries.
Getting the pilot ready. Subtract sword, legs, and one arm, and he just might fit.
Chop off his remaining arm at the wrist and re-position, and add a different arm for the other side, and he fits, after I hack out the center column.
Big gun on top is magnetized, mainly so it can swivel, and the pilot is in place, with a sort of control stick in one hand.

Those guns on the front wouldn't stay put, so that location is just temporary.
Engine pod thingies wouldn't stay level, so I hacked them off to be used elsewhere, and stuck some new engines to the underside of the wings.

December Oath, and progress, already!

For December, I have oathed a Terminator, a Moblot, a Myrmidon-proxy, a Bashi Bazouk, a Dakkajet, and that giant pile of parts that will become a Bomma.
The Bomma is an older Testor's 1:48 Learjet model. Lots of tiny detail parts that I really don't care about and that get covered up by other things, as seen in this picture of an engine.
I should have probably painted in there first. Oh well.
 Working flaps yayyyy.
Parts glued to self count: 1.
Detailed interior? Nah I'm just gonna shove an Ork in there or something.
In the end, I stuck the bulkhead for the pilot compartment in, since it hides the empty back half of the interior.

Kaptain's Log - December: "You will become one, with the bit box."

Crap I need to get working on November... cause its already time for...

The krew was starting to get more nervous the longer the Kaptain went missing. They were testing out some new dakka on the 'deff' setting when a squad of Necron Warriors teleported all about them. The surprise ambush gave them the advantage, and in the confusion of it all, a pair of Necrons sedated then teleported away with the Kaptain. The rest of the warriors disappeared in their own green pulses of light, and the krew was left with little clue as to where they might have taken him. For days they krumped everything they could in search of answers, but to no avail and it was beginning to seem hopeless.

Time went on and the krew struggled to resume a normal life without Kurk. They had finished a trade mission with an imperial outpost (and made a good deal for all their dakka with only a few boyz lost) when the Orkerprise lit up with warning sirens. A massive Necron vessel appeared off starboard through a whirling green portal and hailed them. Silence fell upon everyone as they stared at the half-ork, half-necron abomination that used to be their Kaptain filled the viewscreen.

The cybernetic entity slowly panned its head back and forth across the bridge krew before speaking in an eerily tinny voice. "I am Scarabus of Necron. Resistance is futile. Your life as it has been is over. From dis time forward, you will service us."

Bonez let out what can only be described as a squeel of anger and furiously started waving and pointing at all the Kaptain's Necron parts. "How could ya do this to us Kaptain?!? You done find da Mork-load of gubbins and you don't even share a single screw with a git?"

Vulkan smashed the butt of his spear into a bulkhead, creating a metal clang that silenced and grabbed the attention of the orks. Powering up the spear, the red glow only accentuated the rage he was trying to keep hidden. "Come on boyz. It's time we loot the Kaptain!"

December brings us many things to the contest this year! First off, as our gift to you this holiday season (and my birthday re-gift), we are bringing back Amnesty Month! That's right! You can oath your partially painted stuff for a single point instead of two for December. Sushi will do his usual bit on approval for images if you're worried it's 'too painted' but went pretty smooth last time.

Remember a few months back how I wanted you to remove something from your models, but didn't want it to be a kit-bash? Well I hope you enjoyed the practice because this is officially conversion month! What I'd like to see is about a third of the original model come from something else. Kit-bash some Nob bikers. Pull out the plasticard and make a chin-ork. Green stuff some nurgly tentacle legs. Go nuts! The 1/3 figure is a rough estimate, and really just to avoid this being something minor like a head swap. On top of doing some conversion work, I have an extra task to bulk up this quarterly challenge: Record your efforts! Include at least 3 images (or a link to a video/animated gif fest) of your conversion WIP's as you're building it. Alternately if it's already assembled, get some nice close ups showing just what you did for the conversion. Remember to post your WIP's in your Oath Complete! post so I can keep track of them easier and award you points/prizes!

Since it's a little extra work, and I want people to have some extra time to get the conversion stuff done you're getting this monthly category early! However, DO NOT POST December oaths until Nov 24th!!! It'll be more than a little confusing trying to do 2 months of submitted oaths together, so please wait until the deadline for November submitting has ended. Since December is a quarterly event, please remember that you will only be eligible for quarterly prizes if you do the Kaptain's Log!

Oath Complete

All done. Got halfway done then slacked off on things, but still got it done in the end.
Orks are acceptable. A little darker than my usual, but they work.
The Hafza looks a bit crisper IRL. Color scheme works. Infinity stuff is still pretty hard.
Almost got the colors on these guys matching what I did for the other two Loup-Garou.
And these three complete my plasma plague marine squad. Couldn't quite duplicate the colors of the other two, but again, close enough.
NMM attempt on the sword blade. Not quite there, but not terrible.

November Oath

5 Ork Shootas, 3 Chaos Marines, 2 Hafza, and 2 Loup Garou for November.

Kaptain's Log: November - Who mourns for Aeneas?

Kaptain's Log: November - Who mourns for Aeneas?

The stench of ozone filled the air about the landing boyz as the telyporta finished zapping them to the planets surface. It was a rougher ride than usual, with a good amount of smoke n' sparks and a lot more dead bodies. Snafu coughed out a black cloud before calling out to the Kaptain that he thought something had gone wrong.

Kurk adjusted his hair as he stepped over the remains of Ensign Wednesday Crusha and called back, "Even a grot can see dat! So what happened?"

"I got tellyporta'd to da surface too." Snafu paused to pick his nose in deep thought. "It's not supposed ta do that."

The loud sounds of heavy stomping barely preceded a large metallic humanoid in the distance heading towards them. Its bright silver surface making it a bright but obvious beacon of light as it strode towards them. Kurk seemed not to notice as he was focusing on not killing his lootenant. "So how's we getting back if yous is here and dere's no git at the tellyporta?"

"Dats a good question boss! I hadn't thought of those kind of 'fings. But I guess dat's why yer da Kaptain!"

Shining brightly, the form of a dreadnought could be made from behind it's constant aura in the sunshine. It was closing fast and it was close enough to see the details of the glyphs and seals arrayed across the beast. Still Kurk ignored its approach; Flexing his powerklaw as he imagined the fluid stride in while he crushed the lootenants skull. "Mr. Snafu... How! Do we? Get! Back to... the... SHIP!"

"I'm not da hand of gork Kaptain! I can't woop wierdboy majiks!" Snafu's argument was cut short as the silver dreadnought strode boldly up behind the group, directly behind the Kaptain. "I have brought you all here using my godlike powers, for I am the Mighty Aeneas! Centuries ago, I manipulated your species to my needs and was worshiped as a deity. It has been boring these years of late and I desire servants once more! You shall work for and worship me as in the years past, for none dare... HURK!"

Kurk suddenly lept behind him and grabbed the dreadnoughts head in the merciless grip of his powerklaw. Violently jerking his klaw side to side, they toppled over together with the force of the fall finally shearing the head free. He tore through plating. Ripped apart wires. Crumpled vents. Before finally getting to the squishy core and released a splattering punch with his klaw. "Can't yous see we're having a conversation here!"

It's time for another skill month Kaptain's log! Having a diversity of skills and techniques to apply to our models can only improve the final product, and this months theme can be considered a little intimidating to some. But I want you to brave the challenge and try your hand at non-metallic metal painting! Basically, paint a metallic surface using non metallic paints. There's lots of guides out there for help, but maybe a few goons would like to share their secret techniques to help each other out?

And just a reminder, there is a 3 day extension going on for October. You have until midnight EST on the 3rd to submit your oaths! AND!!! Oath an infinity model this month and post about it in bold so I notice and you will be put in a raffle to choose one of the quarterly prize Infinity boxes courtesy of R.S. Gumby!

October Progress

(Genestealer) Cultists. Really liking these guys so far. Had to get some base coats on these guys for a game this week.
More Orks to add to my pile. Working my way up from a very dark green skin tone here.
(Fallen) Dark Angels. Probably doing the bolters in red. Maybe silver. Simple colors for these guys, probably going to have some red scrawled-on chaos stars for their recent-ish fall.
Note the color on the plasma gun's coil. Blue drafting pen has this sort of shiny look, thought it looked nice.

October Oath

For October: 5 Cultists, 5 Orks, and 5 Marines.
Cultists are getting painted a purple, blue, and grey scheme, as I will mostly be using them as warrior henchmen in my Genestealer Cult counts as Grey Knights army.
Orks are just some shoota boyz I forgot I had. Nothing special there, but they are doing my work for this month's theme. Some of them have weapons cut off and reattached in other places, or are AoBR slugga boyz converted to shootas.
The Marines are getting painted as fallen angels, as last month's librarian was. Mostly black scheme, dirty white robes on the sergeant, and red dark angel symbols. Thinking I might scrawl a chaos star or two over the tactical squad markings on some of them too.
