To non-permanently attach the spiders to the hill, I
skewer them with mighty rods of steel drill a little hole and insert a bit of wire and glue. The wire will be trimmed to length later.
I build up the hill with a bit of wood putty, especially around where the bases for the miniatures will be, to make a more seamless transition from miniature to diorama.
