October Progress
(Genestealer) Cultists. Really liking these guys so far. Had to get some base coats on these guys for a game this week.
More Orks to add to my pile. Working my way up from a very dark green skin tone here.
(Fallen) Dark Angels. Probably doing the bolters in red. Maybe silver. Simple colors for these guys, probably going to have some red scrawled-on chaos stars for their recent-ish fall.
Note the color on the plasma gun's coil. Blue drafting pen has this sort of shiny look, thought it looked nice.

October Oath
For October: 5 Cultists, 5 Orks, and 5 Marines.
Cultists are getting painted a purple, blue, and grey scheme, as I will mostly be using them as warrior henchmen in my Genestealer Cult counts as Grey Knights army.
Orks are just some shoota boyz I forgot I had. Nothing special there, but they are doing my work for this month's theme. Some of them have weapons cut off and reattached in other places, or are AoBR slugga boyz converted to shootas.
The Marines are getting painted as fallen angels, as last month's librarian was. Mostly black scheme, dirty white robes on the sergeant, and red dark angel symbols. Thinking I might scrawl a chaos star or two over the tactical squad markings on some of them too.

Kaptain's Log - October: "I'm an ork! Not a doctor!"
Vulkan held his jaw in pain as he walked down the corridor. A recent mission to a daemon world had gone better than he initially expected, but in the heat of battle he was struck in the head by a chaos warrior's hammer. His genetically enhanced reflexes let him avoid a fatal blow at the last second, but he had lost a handful of teeth in the process. Bearing the pain at first had been simple, but infection had set in and none of his 'home remedies' he made were working. He had no choice. He had to visit Mad Dok Bonez...
The screams coming from behind the door made him hesitate for a moment. But if he could face down hordes of daemonic chaos spawn, he could surely survive a short visit to an ork doctor. As he entered the room, blood splashed about his feet as the Mad Dok finished hammering what looked like a pogo-stick to another ork's chest. Spinning to see who was interrupting his work, Bonez gleefully shuffled over to the space marine.
"Been wonderin' when I'd see youz! Da biggest mutie ork yet must've some work done on his gidgits!"
Trying his best not to think what a 'gidgit' was, Vulkan shook his head. "I lost a few... 'teef' during the last fight and was hoping you could help me."
Clucking like a hen as he dug through his drawers, the mad ork flung a car tire, three severed hands, and a pair of dentures out of his way before ecstatically whooping at his successful search. "Dis'll do yous fine. Take two of these and see me in da mornin!"
Before Vulkan could protest, he was shoved out of the office and the screaming began anew. He just sat there for a moment in confusion, wondering what he was supposed to do with a pair of squigs...
In all of our tool kits we have something sharp. Drills, hobby knives, scrapers, etc. And this month I want you to make the most of them! Find a way to physically remove a portion of your model and work it into your final product! Gouge some claw marks, do some bullet holes, drill your barrels, or replace a hand with something else. Be creative! Most of us have probably gone overboard at one point or another with cleaning mold lines or such, so think of this as turning your mistakes into results.
